During my winter hikes through the Wilder Kaiser mountains, I'm always struck by how the snow-covered peaks seem to shift and change with the light and weather. This painting came from those experiences—the way the mountains can feel both solid and fleeting at the same time, especially when snow and mist blur the boundaries.

I worked with layers of oil paint to capture that sense of movement and atmosphere, the way clouds and snow wrap around the rock faces.
