About the Artwork

This painting was inspired by a cat I met at an animal rescue center. At first glance, what captured my attention were its beautiful eyes, but as I looked closer, I learned that it had lost both of its back legs and was living with only its two front legs.

Despite everything it had been through, there was no bitterness in its eyes. Instead, I saw strength, resilience, and a quiet determination to keep moving forward. That moment stayed with me long after I left.

Through Big Warm Eyes, I wanted to capture more than the likeness of a cat. I wanted to honor a spirit that refused to give up despite hardship. The warm golden eyes symbolize hope, courage, and the ability to find light even after pain.
